EV Charging Terminology

  1. Tethered - Various lengths of charging cables permanently attached the the EV charger unit. Usually between 5-10 metres.

  2. Untethered/Socketed - Usually located on the front of the EV charger, plug your own lead from your car into the unit to start charging.


  1. Type 1 - Older models of electric vehicles in the UK use this type of plug but these are mostly found in other parts of the world

  2. Type 2 - The universal plug and socket design for all new electric vehicles, the green shape in our logo is the type 2 shape!
