Photovoltaic
What are solar panels and how do they work?
The process of converting light or photons directly to electricity is called photovoltaic (PV). A solar panel absorbs photons from the light that has traveled 93 million miles from the sun, and this powerful solar energy knocks electrons loose from their atoms inside the solar panel. The electrons flow through the module to produce DC electricity which is then converted to AC electricity via a PV inverter, producing free green energy for your home and reducing electricity bills. Solar panels or photovoltaic modules group together to form a solar PV array, and add a solar battery for a solar PV storage system.
Solar Panel Installation
Now EV is proud to be family-run and completes every solar PV installation in-house, from solar panel mounting equipment to solar panel maintenance and inverter wiring to online commissioning. Every part of every installation is completed by trusted employees who are experts in their trade. This way, we can maintain our five-star rating and avoid the downfalls of subcontracting that we see far too often.

Solar Panel Bird Deterrent
Every one of our on-roof installations comes with bird deterrent as standard, a must-have for any solar power installation but too often left out as consumers are unaware of the problems nesting birds can cause to a solar panel system. Black PVC coated wire mesh is installed around all sides of the solar panel array, clipping to the solar panel to maintain the warranty.
Why nesting birds are bad for your solar panel installation:
-
Damage to your solar panels
-
Noise disturbance
-
Increased bird droppings on the panels limiting performance
-
Limited ventilation under the solar panels
-
Risk of fire and reduced power output due to heat build up
